A survey on the topic posted on the city’s website had generated an estimated 7,500 responses as of Friday. That’s a lot more feedback than the city has received on any topic is recent memory.
About 60 percent of respondents opposed changing the code, according to the city, with the rest in favor.
A Coloradoan online poll on changing the ordinance received about 1,800 responses, with 50.7 percent opposed to changing the code and 33.5 percent in favor. About 12 percent wondered why this was even an issue.
